The unicorn party bingo words
Ten cards, each one different, drawn from these 22 words. Calling cards are included, so nobody has to make a list up on the day.
unicorn, rainbow, sparkle, magic, horn, cloud, star, glitter, castle, wish, crown, dream, pony, shimmer, moon, fairy, mane, hooves, gem, twinkle, meadow, comet
What the charades cards ask kids to do
There are 24 cards. A few of them:
- Gallop like a unicorn
- Paint a rainbow in the sky
- Sprinkle magic glitter everywhere
- Balance a horn on your head
- Fly over a fluffy cloud
- Make a birthday wish on a star
- Wear an invisible crown
- Swish your sparkly mane
The scavenger hunt list
12 things to find, written so they work indoors or in a garden. Nothing has to be bought or hidden in advance.
- Something with every rainbow color
- Something that sparkles or shines
- Something as soft as a cloud
- Something shaped like a star
- Something pink and pretty
- Something a unicorn would eat
- Something magical and tiny
- Something purple like a dream
- Something round like a gem
- Something white like a unicorn
- Something that makes you smile
- Something shaped like a heart
Word scramble
10 words to unscramble, with an answer key on the next page for whoever is running it: unicorn, rainbow, sparkle, glitter, castle, magic, shimmer, twinkle, meadow, crown.
Ages, timing and printing
- Ages 4 to 10. Younger children usually need a grown-up to read the bingo calling cards and the scavenger hunt list out loud.
- About two hours of party. Bingo runs 10 to 15 minutes, the scavenger hunt 15 to 20, charades as long as they are still laughing.
- Plain paper is fine for the signs, banner and hunt sheets. Card stock is worth it for the bingo cards, charades cards and cupcake toppers, since those get handled.
- US Letter, colour, single sided. Print the invitations first if the party is more than a week away.
- The cupcake toppers say SO MAGICAL, SPARKLE ON, LET'S PARTY, HAPPY BDAY, MAKE A WISH, SHINE!.
Unicorn party ideas kids love
- Set up a horn-and-headband craft table while guests arrive, then start the bingo.
- Use the word scramble as a quiet-down game after cake.
- White balloons plus the printed banner make the whole backdrop.
